Craig Kain, Ph.D.

Dr. Kain is recognized for his expertise in relationships, mood disorders (depression & anxiety) and parenting. He helps couples understand attachment styles and their influences on relationships and intimacy. He helps clients navigate the complexities of raising children and fostering emotionally attuned parent–child bonds.

In addition, Dr. Kain brings experience in sport psychology and fitness, advising amateur and elite athletes on the mental performance side of training, motivation, burnout, and resilience. His viewpoints have been featured in articles such as “Why Training Youth Coaches on Mental Health Matters,” (Parents) where he speaks on how psychological safety and coach mental health literacy improve athlete outcomes.

In broadcast media, Dr. Kain has appeared on television as a psychological commentator, offering insights into the ethical practice of psychology and psychotherapy. He has been quoted in outlets such as Prevention (on managing stress) Parade (on inner dialogue), and Runner's World (on science based benefits of walking).

Over the years he's provided psychotherapy and counseling to adults and couples from a wide range of life-experiences on a wide range of clinical and everyday topics. Dr. Kain received his Doctorate degree from the University of Southern California (USC). He has been selected five years in a row for the Best of Long Beach Awards for Psychologist as well as the 2023, 2024, and 2025 Long Beach Business Hall of Fame. He was also a member of the Master's in Psychology Department faculty at Antioch University, Los Angeles as well as a lecturer at Cal State University  Long Beach.
